Steven's Baby Blessing

I should've blogged this a while ago but better late than never! On Sunday, October 19th, Steven had his baby blessing at church. It was great :) My sister, two brothers, two of my great friends, plus a bunch of Josh's family and friends were there. After that, we went to Josh's parents' house for a lunch. I am so grateful to his parents for opening up their house to us and our family and friends!! Our tiny little apartment is WAAAYYY too small for people to come to. Rhonda (Josh's mom) got Steven a very nice blessing suit. My brother, Marc, was even able to be there! I had originally planned to do it on that date because he would be here for it. When the time got closer it looked like he might not have been able to be there but it all worked out in the end :) (I've been taking a ton of pictures lately but now I realize I should've taken more pictures of the other people there! Duh...)

Coldstone

Okay, so this is pretty ridiculous for me to post this. I went to Cold Stone Creamery on Saturday & found out that the best flavor EVER is coming back on November 5th. It is called Dark Peppermint Chocolate and it is awwweeesssoommmeeee! It doesn't look too pretty because it's like a blackish-grey color but it's yummy! Aside from German Chocolate Crunch from the BYU creamery, it's my favorite ice cream flavor. They only have it during Christmastime for some reason which is a bummer. Earlier this year, however, I was with my friend, Arika, and they had it at the one in Orem. It was in like April or something. So weird but it made my day :) Anyway, I'm going to need to be careful not to get fat from eating all that ice cream...there's a Cold Stone right by my house... :/

I just had to post this picture because I LOVE it sooooo much! I took this picture on October 19 at my in-laws'. My niece, Mandy, was just crawling around on the deck and so I took a few random pictures of her. When i uploaded them onto my computer I saw this one and edited and played with the lighting a bit. To me it looks like one of those professional pictures. I just had to brag :D

New niece!

Yesterday, October 23rd, my brother- and sister-in-law (Josh's brother) had their third child! They named her Ariana Zoraida (I guess her middle name is after my sister-in-law, Vanessa's, grandmother). She weighed 5 lbs, 6 oz and was 19 inches long. She's very cute and has a TON of hair! I thought Steven had a bunch of hair when he was born but compared to Ariana, he looks bald. What's really cool, too, is that she and Steven are exactly 6 weeks apart (to the day!). Awesome! :)

Today we went to visit them and take some pictures. We thought it would be cool to put the two brand new cousins next to each other to compare the sizes. People who see Steven for the first time usually comment on how tiny he is. I just remember how small he was when he was born, though, so to me he's huge. These pictures really prove that point! Philly!

Last Thursday (October 9th) my mom, Steven, and I flew from SLC to Philadelphia. My mom, brother, Marc, and I lived in a southern suburb of Philadelphia for a few years while Marc and I were in high school. Two years ago Marc went on a mission for the LDS church to Sweden. He left from Philadelphia and even though none of my family lives there anymore, he returned there. He knew my mom was going to go pick him up from there but he had no idea I would be there!

On Friday we met a few of our friends at the airport and all surprised him when he got off the plane. We were all standing right outside the door to the terminal and when he walked out he started looking around but totally just glanced right over us. It took him almost a full minute to see us standing there. When he finally did see us, he just stared at us for a while before coming and giving us all hugs. It was awesome! I having been planning on going to pick him up pretty much since he left and I'm really glad everything worked out so I could go.

We stayed at a friend's house and had a really good time while we were there. Marc's best friend, Rich, planned a welcome home party for him so most of his friends could see him before we came back to Utah. My mom and I couldn't stay long because of Steven but Marc had a blast. He was able to spend a bunch of time with his friends which was awesome for him. I'm sure we all could have used more time there but c'est la vie!

On Sunday we were able to go to church at our old ward and see a bunch of people we haven't seen in forever. That was great. Marc spoke and you could tell he was still thinking mainly in Swedish. I think it's awesome that he seems to have learned the language so well and I really hope he can continue to use it.

Steven was great the whole trip, even on the plane. I was really worried that he would scream and cry during the flights, but he just slept! As everything I think will be difficult proves to be relatively easy, I'm wondering when he's going to change and I'm going to pay for it all. Hopefully that'll be a while still!

P.S. It was a masquerade party and most of the people at the party had been in plays in high school and they didn't play "Masquerade" from Phantom of the Opera! I was shocked and a little disappointed ;)

Recently I have decided that I'm going to try my hand at scrapbooking. I've been interested in the past few years but never really had the time or enough motivation. I thought, if nothing else, I can at least make a few pages for Steven. While out shopping for supplies, I bought a box of letters. The other night while testing Steven's sleep level (it ranges from a tiny little wind will wake him up to dead to the world aka daddy can do all sorts of things to him that won't wake him up), I started picking out some letters for my first page. The next morning I found a larger pile on top of the letters I had picked out, thus ruining my night's work. I was a bit peeved at Josh but then I noticed just a few feet away, he'd spelled out "I love you" with the letters. That made it absolutely worth the wasted effort and put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. I have the best husband :)

BIG carseat, little baby

3 days old

Steven is now a little more than 3 weeks and still doing awesome! He's such a good little baby and is eating like a little pig. At his 2 week check up he was up to 6 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches. I'm sure he's up to 7 lbs by now.

My recovery has been awesome as well! I'm so glad I didn't have to get a c-section! I feel really good and I'm very anxious to be able to start working out again soon. Anyway, here's more pictures :)

iPod

So about 2 or 3 months ago I broke my iPod. I usually carry it in my purse so I can plug it into my car if I want or just listen to it on the go. Smart person that I am, I also put a water bottle in my purse. This wouldn't have been so bad but it was one of those bottles with the flip-tops. Great for drinking, not so great for putting in your purse. Needless to say, water spilled EVERYWHERE, including inside of my iPod. :/ It wouldn't turn on or charge so I took it into a local Apple store. They said that if it was still under warranty (thank goodness it was!) that the Apple store in downtown SLC could most likely replace it for free if they couldn't fix it. I asked if water damage was covered under the warranty, which it wasn't, but the guy said they would probably replace it anyway. Yesterday I finally made it down there and after much standing around waiting, they gave me a new one! Yay! :) The major bummer, though, is that I have to reload all my music, some of which were on my old, now dead, computer. But yay for free iPods! :)
