Me, Crafty? What?!?

I've never really thought of myself as a crafty person but I wanted to start decorating my house. I love fall & you can leave the same decorations up for a while so I decided to start on that. The biggest problem that I see with decorating is that it can be expensive. I tried to go the fairly inexpensive route & I think it worked out fairly well!
This pumpkin I made at a church activity. It was a lot of fun :)

The supplies I got to make my vases. The vases were from D.I. ($1 each! Score!) & the rest was from Tai Pan. I really wanted a chain of fall leaves but the only ones I could find were ugly so I had to improvise.

The vases after they were completed.

Everything on my mantle.

Side view of the vases so you could see them a little better.

Not too shabby for not being a crafty person, I think ;)

13 1/2 months

Here are more recent pictures of Steven. Hope you like!
Steven with his cousin Mandy up American Fork Canyon earlier this month. You can't really tell in this picture but earlier I had put Steven in Mandy's stroller. I looked away for a second and during that second he decided to do a face plant on the ground. He has a little scrape on the right side of his forehead but he didn't get a goose egg later! I was happy about that :)
Steven has decided that he likes putting my sunglasses on his face now. Before he would put them around his neck backwards...
Chillin' in his stroller.
Steven trying to use the swiffer
Laundry basket o' fun
Apparently Josh did this same type of thing as a kid. Can this stuff be genetic??
Steven & I on his birthday.
One of his many funny faces. Steven was very interested in what Josh was doing.

ALWAYS wear your seatbelt!!

These pictures were taken Wednesday after a 5-car accident. The guy in the truck (shown below on the left side of the picture) was going at least 50 (but probably much more) when he spilled his drink, looked down to find it & rear-ended the blue car in the picture. The blue car was stopped at a stop light & when the truck hit it, the truck's back end lifted OFF THE GROUND. How fast do you have to be going for an F-350 to LIFT OFF THE GROUND when it hits a substantially smaller car?? As a result of this initial impact, the blue car hit the car in front of it & then was hit again (I'm not sure by which car). 5 cars total were involved in this accident. I guess the front of the blue car looks similar to the back but I don't have pictures of that. Who was in the blue car, you might ask? My mother- & 14-year-old brother-in-law. Fortunately neither was badly injured (just some bumps and bruises; no broken bones or blood!) & no one was in the back seat. Also, VERY fortunately for them, both were wearing their seat belts. Had they not had their seat belts on, the force of the rear impact would have surely sent one or both through the windshield. I am SOO grateful for seat belts!! I always wear mine & I'm posting this to remind everyone to wear theirs!! It may seem like a "hassle" but wouldn't you rather put up with this "hassle" than be dead?
Oh and the best part? The driver at fault (Mr. Black F-350) was driving with NO insurance & a suspended license. The moral of the story: wear your seat belt, only drive legally, & if you spill your drink (or something else), wait until you STOP to get it. Better to be a little wet then cause a 5-car pile-up.

This is so not "PC"

At work the other day, one of the girls was telling about her recent trip to California. Her family was headed to San Diego but somehow got on the wrong freeway. She knew they were in trouble when she saw a sign that said, "Last U.S. Exit". She pointed that out to her mom & her mom had to cross 3 lanes of traffic very quickly to make the exit. They started heading north when they saw this sign. No joke, it is a real sign. I especially love how it looks like the little girl is being dragged behind the mom... ;) This is really un-p.c., I know, but I thought it was funny. Another girl at work said, "At least the sign says 'caution'." I can't help what I think is funny ;)

Updated

I have been really bad lately at posting on here. What with Josh being a gone & essentially being a single parent for almost a month & the other stuff that's been going on, I really just haven't had time. I just thought I'd put a little update on here about something new going on in my life.
As most of you know, until I had Steven & even after for a few months, I worked at an OB/GYN office in Sandy. I loved working there & the people were so great but when Josh started working full time again in the Spring, the situation didn't work anymore for us. Recently I filled in & the office manager offered me a job there again. Because Josh only works a day or two a week during the winter, it is a perfect time for me to work. They know my situation & that I won't be able to work as much in the Spring & they're very understanding. So I am working again! If I had to pay for daycare full time it wouldn't be worth it but with Josh's unique work schedule it's working out great! A little extra money & a change of pace for me. :) Josh is so great & supportive about it. I'm so grateful that he loves our family & is willing to watch Steven while I work. He is very much a family man & I am so grateful for him! I honestly don't think I could find a better work situation & I am excited to be working again! :)
